back to Nebraska

Yesterday we arrived in Lincoln, Nebraska. Kris has church planting meetings and the kiddos and I got to hitch a ride. As we drove in I remembered all the things I love about Lincoln. It is nice to move from someplace, still love it, and be able to visit and instantly feel at home.

Things I love about Lincoln (all you old Lincolnites tell what you love):
Is it always this green here?
Southpointe mall (I know, a mall? good memories...)
Lincoln Berean church...did alot of growing there
the antique shops
green gateau( my fave restaurant ever! no kidding!)

The People!!!! God gave Kris and I such a rich time of friendship while we lived in Lincoln. We had oodles of great Godly friends that pushed us to grow and gave us endless encouragement. I look back and know God was preparing us to encourage others in a way we never had before. I am eternally grateful for my four years in Lincoln. I am also thankful that when God moved us He moved my heart to a new home as well. Now, when I come to Lincoln it isn't with homesickness for this place but a huge appreciation for amazing friends, a church that loved us, and a place where I always will feel at home.

I want to remember...

crawling around on the floor with Kristyn to play peekaboo over and over again

helping Taylor get going on his bike because he just learned to ride without training wheels but is too small to get on without help

holding Jocelyn for a few minutes after ever nap...and enjoying it because most of the time she is too busy for hugs and kisses

waking up with a child on each side of me in the morning because they somehow sneak in our bed without waking us

the silly songs Taylor makes up while riding in the car

how Taylor and Jocelyn play together and love eachothers company 90% of the time

the look on Taylor's face when he realized he could read a word all by himself

Jocelyn's joy when her daddy tells her she looks beautiful

the cheesiest, cutest face I have ever seen when you point a camera at Kristyn and she says something like "cheese"...priceless

Years from now I will wish I could relive each of these moments so since I cannot I don't want to take them for granted.

Spring training

If it was up to me Taylor would become a baseball player. I think part of that comes from knowing that baseball was always my dad's favorite sport. So, of course, its the best, right?! So on one of our beautiful sunny days lately Kris got Taylor out for some hitting practice.
He learned how to keep his eye on the ball. Now we just need to practice catching.
Kristyn was Taylor's biggest fan

TRUST ME

you can see where Kristyn's trust lies.

Shreddin' it

I looked out the window one snowy day and here was Taylor with his sled teaching himself to snowboard.
Kris went out to "help"
He was totally shreddin' it!

Breakfast with Grandma

Its becoming a tradition to go out for breakfast whenever Grandma Grubb comes to town. This time we went to a little place on Main in Louisville called, The Huckleberry. We highly recommend it.
Kristyn really got into Daddy's chocolate chip pancakes.

And the Mickey Mouse pancakes were great too. What are your family traditions?

Sun (cold) and Sand

It is Jocelyn's first visit to the ocean. She loved the sand, thought twice about the waves...
but Taylor was an old pro

It was frigid!...and windy....and cold...and shivering....
Need I say more

Magic

We played...
we danced (while waiting in many lines)...
we loved experiencing it all together...
we ended the night with ice cream and fireworks...
and the kiddos didn't even make it out of the parking lot awake.

small world, big meltdown

As we were getting in line for my all time favorite ride Taylor's lip started quivering. Nap time was overdue and we all were feeling it. When we asked Tay to smile for the picture it took him over the edge.
Crying on Daddy's shoulder for a while seemed to help...
Jocelyn was just ready for the next ride
But as soon as the music started they were totally amazed
Still singing the word Jocelyn told grandma Grubb about her new "favorite" ride
