This year I took on a new challenge that I never thought I would try. I'm planting a garden. I've always been the one that says' I'll just buy my produce at the farmers market...now I'm the farmer!
My friend, Jan, who grew up on a farm taught me how to do everything, even going to the store to pick out the plants and seeds. We hoed we raked we dug we weeded and we planted.
I am really surprised how I look forward to going outside to water, weed, and inspect for new growth everyday. I always take Taylor and Jocelyn so they can enjoy the miracle of God's creation.
We are already enjoying the lettuce, cilantro, and basil. I can't wait for the carrots, onions, leeks, spinach, green beans, peas, tomatoes, peppers, mint, parsley, lemon basil, watermelon, and squash. I'll keep you updated.

Wowzers! You go girl! Paul and I planted a some zuchinni and tomato but I think the squirels dug up the zuchinni seeds so we'll have to see. I was all gung-ho on planting this year since I actually have room but quickly remmebered that my little one is due to arrive during weeding season and I don't think I'll have much time for that this year. Send some my way! :)
Ooooh. I'm TOTALLY jealous. It looks like so much fun. You are so blessed to have a "garden mentor". That's what I need. So...you learn and then teach me :) What a great outdoor lesson in God's creation. Yay.
Mmmm, you are so lucky you have a garden. Maybe I'll be able to plant one at our new place, of course you're going to have give me some tips! Can't wait to have some of your fresh food, it will probably be organic right? And cost way less than the Boulder Farmer's Market!
