I'm Trying

God definitely teaches us through our children...Kris and I have been praying for wisdom in parenting, disciplining, and training our little man, lately. Is it all about consistency or is there something we are forgetting? In the last few days I could tell a difference in Taylor's attitude and obedience, and it was a change for the better. Yesterday when I had needed to discpline him for an action we were talking afterwards, through some tears, about the reason we discipline his disobedience. And when I asked if he understood this is what he said, "well, Mom, I'm trying to do the right thing like Daddy talked about at Aidan's house (this is where we attend house church every week and the kids have something similar to Sunday school) but its hard! I hugged him and thanked him for trying. I told him it is hard for even Mommy and Daddy to obey God but He just wants us to try and He is so happy when we do. When I told Kris about our little man he said, "isn't that describe the life of each Christian, we try to do the right thing but its hard. I am so thankful that my heavenly Father is happy when we try even when its hard and we mess up. He may discipline us but he hugs us just like I do my little man and love him more than ever. Thank you, Lord for yet another beautiful picture of You through my child.

I enjoy your blog and subscribed to it some time ago because I liked your pictures and your style. I also appreciate your heart for God- and I can understand what you are going through with trying to be consistent with the discipline. Good thing we have God with us to give that Wisdom that we need EVERYDAY!
