Just moments ago, this became the most important day in my son's life.
There have been many times that Kris and I have talked with Taylor about Christ, sin, the cross, Heaven and the whole Gospel. Each time Taylor seemed to take some of it in and every time we would ask if he wanted to accepted Christ and His gift of salvation he said, "not right now". Today as we were getting the table ready for lunch Taylor asked, "how do you get to Heaven?" That started a conversation between Taylor, Kris, and I. All the things had been said before but this time Taylor was really wondering and questioning. After questions and answers Taylor said, "I want to go to Heaven" and when we asked all the questions a parent does to make sure their child understands we asked him if he would like to pray, here is as close to quoting his simple, beautiful prayer as I can get, "Dear Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for my sins, please forgive me and save me from my sin, thank you for everything God does for me. Thank you for taking me to Heaven when I die. Amen"
No other words could be as beautiful to a mama and Daddy.
The most ordinary of days can become quite extrodinary.
May Taylor glorify You with His life. Guide us as we train him on the beginning of his journey. Deepen his understanding of first his sin and Your amazing, glorious forgiveness. You are amazing and may my son experience the depth and width and breadth of Your astounding love. Praise Your holy name. Amen!!!!!
And all the angels partied!

Praise God!
You don't know me. I came across your blog by accident. Tears came to my eyes as I read about your son asking Christ into his heart. What a wonderful thing, and as a believer myself, I can rejoice along with you! My children are now all grown up and I have 3 grandchildren. All have said that prayer. Nothing better!
